Project Profile -Thunder Alley

Thunder Alley Family Entertainment Center provided unique and large scale challenges for its audio, video, and lighting system, and Direct Pro Audio delivered! At over 86,000 square feet, Thunder Alley is the largest bowling-centered family entertainment center in the Midwest, and it is packed with energy and entertainment. With 40 bowling lanes, Thunder Road go-carts, laser tag, arcade, and Twisterz restaurant, there is no shortage of things to do.
Direct Pro Audio was contacted at the very beginning to provide and install all sound, video, and cosmic bowling systems for the entire facility. Before ground was even broken, Direct Pro Audio was working with the owners, architect, and general contractor to ensure a smooth installation process.
Sound

Direct Pro Audio provided multiple sound systems for every area of the massive facility. Thunder Alley's main sound system for the bowling lanes consists of over 30 speakers and subwoofers in 8 zones from Community, Yorkville, and Turbosound. These speakers are powered by 10 Crest commercial amplifiers capable of delivering over 10,000 watts of power. The system is digitally controlled using a Rane RPM processor and matrix mixer, ensuring that any audio input can be routed to any speaker zone. Direct Pro Audio also provided sound systems for Twisterz Restaurant and the Thunder Road Go-Cart track using Community speakers, and Crest amplifiers.
Video

Direct Pro Audio designed and installed a world-class, high definition video system. The system included over 30 LCD flat screen TVs, and projector screens. An EXTRON matrix switcher ensures that any input from either HD cable, satellite, DVD, or bowling network sources can be displayed on any TV, anywhere in the facility. Signal was conveniently distributed using Intellix baluns and CAT6 cable, reducing labor materials cost in the installation.
Cosmic Lighting
Direct Pro Audio installed and programmed more than 60 intelligent lighting fixtures. Haze machines from Chauvet and Martin Professional round out the facility's dazzling cosmic bowling show. Weekends are a hot spot at Thunder Alley, where hundreds of people enjoy bowling with energetic music.
